Prove your steel stock with photo‑audited counts.
Every bundle photographed. Every tube counted. Every correction on the record.
- Hosted in the EU · Frankfurt
- Counts in the browser — iPhone, iPad, desktop
- Every correction on the record
Counting steel by hand doesn't hold up in an audit.
Tally sheets, chalk marks and a second count when the numbers don't match: manual stocktaking of tubes is slow, error-prone and hard to prove afterwards.
Count, note, recount.
Someone counts each bundle end-on, writes the number down and types it in later.
- Counting a large bundle takes minutes — and is easy to get wrong
- Paper lists are typed into the system afterwards
- No photo, no proof when a count is questioned
- Variances surface weeks later in the books
Photograph, check, done.
Photograph the bundle; SteelX numbers every tube, reads the label and finds the stock line.
- Every tube detected and numbered on the photo
- Label read automatically — including handwritten corrections
- Pieces checked against the stock list on the spot
- Photo, count and every correction on the record
From stock list to proven count in three steps.

Upload your stock list
Import an XLSX or CSV export from your ERP. Columns are mapped automatically; rows with a heat number are matched to counts later.

Count by photo
Warehouse staff photograph each bundle end-on with an iPhone or iPad. Tubes are detected on the device; uncertain ones are confirmed with a tap.
iPhone · iPad · browser - 03
Reconcile and prove
Managers review the counts, correct them with a reason and approve them — with variance per line, a full audit trail and an Excel export.
Audit trail · Excel
Built for tube and pipe warehouses.
Everything a stocktake needs, from the camera to the audit trail.
Camera counting
Tubes are detected and numbered on the photo, right on the device. Uncertain candidates are never counted automatically.
Label scanning
Reads every field on the bundle tag — heat number, grade, dimensions, pieces, weight — and handwritten quantity corrections.
Pieces check
Compares your count with the label and the stock list and flags any difference immediately.
Inventory reconciliation
Count against open audits and see the variance per line. Single counts can be allocated to an inventory later.
Audit trail
Every count, correction, upload and AI scan is recorded with who and when. Only an Admin can change a count — with a reason.
Team and roles
Admins, managers and counters, each with the right view. Two-factor sign-in and one active session per account.
Your stock data stays yours.
Hosted in the EU
Database, file storage and sign-in run in Frankfurt (AWS eu-central-1), operated by a German company in Neuss.
Counting on the device
Tubes are detected in the browser and photos are stored in the EU for the record. Only a label you choose to scan is sent for text recognition.
Strict company separation
Every company's data is isolated at the database level. Members only ever see their own company.
Secure sign-in
Two-factor authentication, one active session per account and a log of every sign-in.
Frequently asked
What is SteelX?
SteelX is a tool for photo-assisted stocktaking of steel tubes and profiles. You photograph a bundle with your phone, SteelX counts the pieces, optionally reads the label and reconciles the count against your stock — with an auditable record.
How does counting work?
You photograph the end face of a bundle. SteelX detects the individual tube ends and marks each with a numbered circle. You review the result, correct individual markers if needed, and confirm the final number.
Does my photo leave the device? Is counting AI?
The actual counting runs entirely in your browser on the device — no image is sent to third parties for it. Only if you choose to read the label is that single label photo sent to our provider Anthropic for text recognition (see Privacy).
What does label recognition do?
You photograph the shipping/inventory label. SteelX reads fields such as product/article number, dimensions (Ø × wall × length), heat/batch number and quantity — including handwritten quantity corrections — and matches the count to the right inventory line.
Can I correct a count?
Yes. Managers and admins can add or remove circles and adjust the final piece count with a reason, then approve or reject it. Every change is logged (audit trail).
What roles are there?
Admin (owner) — manages the team, counts and inventory and can add further users; Manager — reviews and corrects counts; Counter — captures counts on site.
How do I get access to SteelX?
Request a demo on the start page. We count a few of your bundles live, set up your company account and hand your admin the credentials; the admin then adds the team. If your company already uses SteelX, your admin creates your account.
What does SteelX cost?
That depends on the number of users and sites. After the demo you receive an offer that fits your warehouse.
Is my data in the EU?
Yes. Database, file storage and authentication run in the EU region of Frankfurt (Supabase on AWS eu-central-1). See the privacy policy for details.
Can I sign in on several devices at once?
One active session is allowed per account. If you sign in on another device, the previous session is ended.
Which languages are supported?
The interface is available in 16 languages, including English, German, Dutch, French, Polish, Turkish, Arabic, Chinese and Korean; a light and a dark theme are available.
